PhD position: Eiffel and persistent O-O

ETH, Bertrand Meyer's university, is seeking a research employee who would, in addition to teaching, work on a PhD in the field of object persistence, with special application to Eiffel. Requirements include:
  • Excellent general computer science background, with a completed Master's degree
  • In-depth knowledge of object technology, in particular familiarity with Eiffel and Design by Contract
  • In-depth knowledge of database technology
  • Excellent design and programming skills, taste for implementation and quality
  • Taste for research on difficult conceptual problems (published papers a plus)
  • Excellent writing skills, good command of English and willingness to learn German
  • Good presentation skills and willingness to teach
"Assistants" at ETH Zurich are paid employees of the university who pursue a PhD. The salary is described as "extremely competitive".
